Melissa Gibson, Controller, Testing & Telemetry
Melissa Gibson serves as the financial Controller supporting executive leadership for both the Testing & Telemetry and Space Solutions business units of Safran DSI. She leads strategic planning and forecasting, internal controls and compliance, and all related accounting functions with a focus on team building, continuous process improvement, and digital transformation.
Prior to joining Safran DSI, Melissa served in multiple business unit CFO and controller roles, most recently as Director, Financial Controller for Rinnai America Corporation. At Rinnai, Melissa was responsible for building a controller’s team capable of supporting growth of the business unit from $0.5M to $1B within 5 years. This included building and leading a team of 18; implementing systems for financial consolidation, account reconciliations, and financial reporting; improving the internal controls environment; managing relationships with external audit and the global corporation; acquisition integration; and managing cash flow. Melissa also worked for United Technologies Corporation for fourteen years including two business unit CFO roles, with heavy emphasis in strategic financial planning and forecasting, acquisition integration, and finance business transformation. She was transferred within UTC from Indiana to Georgia in 2008 to set up an acquisition as a separate business unit, including supporting growth from $175M to $475M over a 5-year period through both acquisitions and >20% annual organic growth. Her role there covered leadership of the IT and customer care functions, in addition to finance and accounting, including passing the first ever IT audit for the business unit.
Melissa holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University and is CPA eligible. She also has a real estate license and has completed executive leadership training at the University of Virgina.
Outside of work Melissa enjoys time with family and friends, traveling, live music, and motorcycling.
